Nigeria Job Vacancy For International Public Health Program Specialist, ( Abuja )

The International Public Health Program Specialist will be responsible for providing support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of PEPFAR Program. The International Public Health Program Specialist will also be responsible for providing administrative and management technical assistance to the Organization’s Nigeria office; health communications for the Organization’s Nigeria office; strategic planning for the Organization’s Nigeria office; and grants management coordination for the Organization’s Nigeria office according to Organization’s regulations.

Responsibilities Include:

- All duties and responsibilities will be performed with onsite direction from the Organization’s Nigeria deputy director
- Provides guidance and expertise in the development of a Health Communications strategic plan involving Organization’s Nigeria and Atlanta staff, coordinating the development and review of public health marketing brochures, coordinate development and management of the Organization’s Nigeria external websites for partner information, coordinate and facilitate office processes for edit and clearance of office documents and presentations.
- Provides guidance and expertise with strategic planning; develops draft plans based on input from key staff; formulates strategic planning documents; monitors progress and develops reports summarizing and detailing achievements.
- Provides guidance and expertise with coordination, monitoring, and tracking of actions for cooperative agreements; advises technical staff; develops cooperative agreement funding packages; collects, edits, tabulates, analyzes, interprets, and disseminates qualitative and quantitative data related to cooperative agreement actions. Cooperates, coordinates, communicates with a varied and divergent staff of managers, scientists, technical, and administrative staff. Utilizes expertise and familiarity of the Organization’s grants and cooperative agreements regulations, budget formulation, and fiscal management procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Masters Degree in Public Health
- Familiarity with the PEPFAR program
- Foreign Nationals and US Citizens are eligible to apply.
- Overseas Experience with United States Government Public Health Programs preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience in international public health programming and/or implementation.
- Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Experience in operating effectively in cross-cultural environment and working within interagency setting.
- Driver’s license recommended.
- High degree of judgment, maturity, ingenuity and originality to interpret technical and political opportunities and constraints.
- Strong English writing and Oral skills.
